Bromley Maternity Voices

Bromley Maternity Voices is an independent group made up of people who have used maternity services and those who support women and families through this most important part of their lives such as doctors, midwives, health visitors and other health care professionals.   The group is funded by NHS Bromley CCG.

Bromley Maternity Voices acts as an advisory friend to help maternity services in Bromley improve care for women.

If you are pregnant or had a baby in the last five years, are a new dad or grandparent then Bromley Maternity Voices would love to hear from you.   You can get involved as little or as much as you like.

How can I get involved in Bromley Maternity Voices?

Even if you don't have much time to spare, we would love to hear about your experiences.  We have a survey which you can complete to help us agree our priority areas to focus on.  It is available here.

If you want to get more involved there are a number of ways to do this:

  • Come along to one of our meetings held locally.  You can bring your baby in arms with you and your children can use the free crèche.  At the meeting you can ask questions, help to shape decisions and make sure parent's voices are being heard.  You can come along to as many meeting as you can manage.
  • Join one of our informal coffee mornings to talk about your experiences over a coffee and some cake.
  • Helps us reach more new mums from all walks of life to hear about their experiences.
  • Join us at events to help promote maternity care in Bromley.
  • Join us on visits to new parents both in hospital and in the community to hear about their birth experiences so that any improvements can be put in place quickly.

Everyone who has had a baby has a story to tell and we want to hear it.  We want to know about the care you received, what went well and what could have been better.  You will be able to meet other new parents and help shape maternity care both at the Princess Royal University Hospital and in the community.

What difference does Bromley Maternity Voices make?

Bromley Maternity Voices has helped to influence:

  • The provision of a Mindful Mums service which offers befriending and well being groups.
  • Better information for parents who want a home birth.

If you want to know more about Bromley Maternity Voices you can read the information leaflet available on this page.  Or you can contact Grace Wooller, the Chair of the group at grace.wooller@nhs.net     You can also follow the group on Instagram.
