Children and young people

Children and Young People Services covers a broad range of services across physical health, mental health and social care for residents from birth until the age of 17.

Working alongside the Local Authority, Bromley CCG are working to improve integration between services to ensure a high quality and good access for the young people of Bromley. This will include working with local partners such as Children and Family Centres and schools. Services  across community, primary and acute services  will be expected  to work more closely together through  development  of integrated care protocols and pathways.

What services will look like in five years time:

  • Standardise care pathways around asthma, diabetes, ADHD
  • Reduction in deliberate self-harm through continuing to promote uptake for psychological wellbeing programmes
  • Greater service user involvement in how services are shaped and managed
  • Ongoing assessment of and support for young carers and continue to ensure that children do not undertake inappropriate caring roles. The Children and Families Bill recognises the need for this and requirements to provide this came into force in 2015. The London Borough of Bromley will work in partnership with carers, Carers Bromley and others to ensure that they continue to be effectively implemented.
  • Digital technology to continue to be used as an enabler for effective communication of services
