Bromley CCG invites providers to tender for new urgent care service

Date: 16 May 2014

Time: 01:00

NHS Bromley CCG is inviting providers to tender for a new integrated urgent care service at Beckenham Beacon.

The current urgent care service at Beckenham Beacon has been operating as a pilot service since 2009, providing a see-and-treat service delivered by nurse practitioners for patients with minor injuries and minor illness from 8am-8pm seven days a week. The service runs alongside a GP led walk-in service so that all patients attending the urgent care service with a history of certain chronic conditions, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) can see a GP.

The contracts for both the Walk-In Centre and for the pilot Urgent Care Service end in November 2014. In this context, Bromley CCG feels that this is the right time to procure a new urgent care service at Beckenham Beacon, with an opportunity to improve the service based on what we have learned from the existing pilot service.
