Bromley Maternity Voice Partnership (MVP)

Date: 02 January 2019

Are you passionate about improving and developing maternity services for women and their families in Bromley?

Bromley CCG is looking for a Chair and additional service user representatives for our Maternity Voice Partnership (MVP).

MVPs are local partnerships of maternity service users/representatives and maternity professionals that come together to review and contribute to the development of maternity care.

The MVP Chair will be responsible for leading and representing Bromley MVP throughout the year with the help and support of a range of professionals including commissioners, maternity staff, health visitors, our local Healthwatch service and public engagement staff from the CCG.    This will take up approximately two days per month which can be scheduled to fit around the Chair and any other commitments.   The strategic parts of the role will attract a payment of £150 per day up to a maximum of nine days a year.   This includes chairing and managing the MVP committee and representing Bromley at south east London maternity meetings.  Other duties would be undertaken as a volunteer.  All travel and carer expenses will be paid for.   The role is for two years although a shorter period can be negotiated if required.    A copy of the role description is attached.

Service user representatives can be as involved as much or as little as they like.  This may include coming along to meetings to share views and contribute to discussions, or being part of a wider network of volunteers who can share their experiences and talk to other women who have used maternity services to gather their views.  This is a voluntary role but travel and carer expenses will be paid for.

If you are due to or have recently had a baby and have experience of using maternity services, or work with pregnant women/new mums and their families in a professional or voluntary capacity, we would love to hear from you!
