NHS Bromley Clinical Commissioning Group will be undertaking a procurement for community health services in Bromley. This was agreed by the CCG’s Governing Body during a meeting held in public on Thursday 28 January 2016.
Community health services are currently provided by Bromley Healthcare. Their contract for providing these services ends on 30 September 2017.
The procurement process will involve:
Patients will continue to use community health services as normal and there will be no reduction in what is available.
Dr Andrew Parson, Clinical Chair of NHS Bromley CCG said, “Over recent years, we have seen many improvements in health, which means that people are living longer, although many have complex health needs. As our population increases, the demand for health services rises and our challenge is to meet these demands and deliver improvements with the money we have available to us.
“The procurement of community health services gives us the opportunity to develop improved and more efficient local models of delivering integrated community based care which are organised around the needs of patients and our local populations. This will help us respond to the increasing demands for services and provide the very best care for patients”.
“We are grateful to community services staff working in Bromley who continue to provide good quality care for our patients. We look forward to getting their input into our plans for delivering integrated community based care”.
More information on the procurement will be available on our website over the next few months.
There will be plenty of opportunities for local people to get involved in this process including giving views on what currently works well and what needs improving in community health services.
