Dissolution of the South London Healthcare NHS Trust (SLHT)

The Secretary of State for Health has confirmed the dissolution of the South London Healthcare NHS Trust (SLHT). The dissolution will take place on Monday 30 September 2013.

It remains business as usual for the PRUH and Orpington Hospital. If you have an appointment or receive care at either hospital, you will not be affected.
Hospitals previously part of South London Healthcare NHS Trust will transfer to the following organisations, with effect from Tuesday 1 October 2013:

The PRUH in Orpington will transfer to the King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As part of this arrangement, King’s College Hospital will also acquire the Orpington Hospital site for an interim period of three years.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Greenwich will join up with Lewisham Healthcare NHS Trust and on 1 October form the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.   The Trust will provide hospital services for residents in Lewisham and Greenwich and community health services for residents in Lewisham; and The Queen Mary’s Hospital site will transfer to Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust.  Services at the site will be delivered by a range of providers including Oxleas, Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and the London Borough of Bexley.
