Emotional and Mental Well Being services

Date: 30 December 2016

Since we published our Bromley Five Year Transformation Plan to improve the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people in January 2016, we have already seen a number of improvements.  This includes further enhancing the single point of access to services through Bromley Y, increased capacity and reduced waiting lists.

Over the summer of 2016 we also commissioned New Economics Foundation to lead a co-design and co-production programme with young people, communities and partners from across Bromley.  The purpose for this was to ensure they were all actively involved in designing how these services should be delivered to meet needs, improve outcomes and help build resilience in our younger population.  This approach also supports delivery of the national CAMHS transformation priorities as set out in Future in Mind (2015).

In order to successfully deliver our transformation plan, we are committed to continuing this approach and to work closely with young people and their families, providers and other partners to ensure we have a system of care designed to meet their needs.  We have been reviewing our transformation plan and a refreshed version will be published in January 2017 on our website.
