National statistics reveal that mental health issues affect one in three of us.  NHS Bromley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) understands how important good mental health is and making sure people get the right support at the right time.  Mental Health Awareness Week is organised by the Mental Health Foundation and aims to raise awareness of mental health to fight discrimination and stigma and promote good mental wellbeing.

Dr Atul Arora, local GP and Clinical Lead for Mental Health at NHS Bromley CCG said:  "Over 2,600 people in Bromley (almost 1% of the adult population) have been identified by GPs as experiencing serious mental illness.

"One in six, will suffer from a recognised mental health problem including depression, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, generalised anxiety disorder and mixed anxiety and depressive disorder but not all of these people are getting the help they need.

"If you've been feeling depressed for more than a few weeks or your anxiety is affecting your daily life, make an appointment to speak to your GP or contact the Bromley Working for Wellbeing Services, which accept self referrals Tel: 0300 003 3000."

Over the last year, we have seen many improvements in our local mental health services.  These include:
