The Red Bag Scheme - training for Bromley care homes

The red bag is part of the safe transfer of care pathway from care homes to hospital in the event a resident becomes unwell. The red bag clearly identifies the patient as a resident of a care home.

Who is the training open too?

Training is open to all care home managers and extra care housing managers, deputy managers, clinical and residential leads.

The training will cover the following:

  • How does the red bag help?
  • How the scheme works
  • What are the processes involved and what paperwork is included?
  • What to do if the bag is damaged, lost or the service user dies during hospital stay?
  • What resources are available to promote the scheme in your home?Training will be delivered by the Health Innovation Network and Training Certificates will be available for all attendees.
