Getting urgent and emergency care in Bromley

Emergency care

Please use the right service when you are ill. Only use emergency services in a critical or life threatening situation.

In Bromley our main emergency department is located at the Princess Royal University Hospital [link]. This has emergency care available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Urgent care

Urgent care means your situation or condition requires attention from a trained healthcare professional but it is not life threatening. We have a number of places you can go to seek urgent care if you cannot wait for the next available appointment from your GP.

The best approach is to call 111 and a trained operator will use current information to direct you to the right service for your needs.

Registering with your GP

Whether you feel ill or not it is essential that you register with a GP local to you. Registering is easy and means you have access to a doctor 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Find your nearest GP on www.nhs.uk

Improving local urgent and emergency care

We are always looking at ways to improve services so that Bromley residents have access to the highest quality healthcare.

We have work underway specifically looking at urgent care services. We are doing this with the rest of the health and social care system in Bromley. You can find out more about our plans for urgent and emergency care in our commissioning intentions here.
